The yurt has been airlifted to location! Now the heavy lifting begins. The rough estimate of the amount of labor that will be needed to erect the yurt and make it functional is 128 hours - excluding commute time. That sounds a little optimistic to me, but there is no question we have a lot of work to do. Get involved. It is going to be fun, too.

There are several projects that need to be done on the existing yurts, while we wait for the Boundry Creek yurt airlift. The projects are quite amenable to independent work days. Anyone who would like to get a workday credit but can not make the scheduled workdays, is welcome to undertake one of these projects. In order to get the work day credit, you need to check in before hand. You should be able to do so at the Bear River Ranger station, or - perhaps an easier way is to drop brora@allwest.net an email. When you have completed the project send a confirming email. We will make sure that your credit is recorded. The projects that need to be done are:
Stacking the wood into the wood shed at Lily Lake and Ridge yurts. The wood has been cut and dumped in front of the shed.
Cleaning Lily Lake and Ridge yurts. Both are in reasonable shape, but need a "spring" cleaning.

The helicoper that had been scheduled for ferrying the Boundry Creek yurt in has been called off to fire duty. So, the work day that was scheduled to work on that project has been postponed. However, there is a LOT of work to be done on the 4 lower yurts. We would really encourage any independent work be done this weekend.

The things that need the most attention are stacking wood at Bear Claw, Lily Lake, and Ridge. The wood has been cut and dumped in front of the wood sheds. But, it really needs to be stacked in the sheds.

The Lily Lake and the Ridge yurts really need a good spring cleaning. This should be a great weekend to be in the woods.

Be sure to let the Forest Service know that you are working on these project, in order to get credit for the pass, early reservations, and reduced rate.
