trail update for the week of 12/18-24/06

With a couple of good storms this past week, the skiing conditions have
greatly improved. There is over a foot of snow at the trailhead and
upwards of two feet at the higher elevations and we are well under way
with our grooming program. The current conditions should allow us to do
some grooming with the snow cat and begin setting tracks.

trail update for the week of 12/11-17/06

Our snow totals are slowly adding up, and we are continuing to pack the
trails with each new storm, but are still waiting for the "big" storm to
get things rolling. The skiing conditions are slowly improving and people
are finding the best snow to be at higher elevations. Please use caution
near the bridge where the snow cover is still thin. Have a great visit.

Trail update 12/3/06

Went skiing out to East Fork turnaround yesterday. Fun skiing and
excellent weather. It was much sunnier and warmer than in town. The
trail was good with a few rocks going down to and up from the river but
it was worth the trip out. There were lots of people out tree cutting;
unfortunately someone took down the 7 ft tree right at the trail head
and left it leaning again the signs. Another individual took down a
tree, trailside, up past the warming hut turnoff. I checked with the
Forest Service this morning and they said that permits state there is no
tree cutting allowed ithin 100 ft of administrative sites which would
include the trailhead and trailside.

Trail conditions 12_2-06

Skied into the Bear Claw and  East Fork Yurts  Saturday.  The trail was packed and the sking was good. There were no tracks set yet but, it was still a good outing.

Only saw a few rocks poking out of the trail.  The Yurts and trail systems appear to be getting heavy use.  Get out and enjoy.
